Protecting environment is an issue
which has been regarded as being very important by politicians and planners on
the high governmental levels. In order to develop appropriate plans to maintain
and improve the quality of the environment and to compile and implement
regulations to prevent environmental destruction, it is necessary to provide
information on urban environmental indicators and to examine their impact on
human health in order to employ appropriate measures regarding facilities, and
available environmental resources. Today, lack of waste water’s
collection and treatment system, mismanagement of resources and skyrocketing of
wastes and domestic waste water can influence public health. In addition, rapid
growth of traffic load increases the amount of lead in the blood. Lead actually
affects all human organs; lead poisoning, causes about 234 thousand deaths annually in the world;
moreover in 2000,
traffic accidents caused 2,1
million deaths and 90%
of those cases occurred in developing countries. |
